Natures salad bar providing important nutrition after a long winter nap, plus a little beach combing.
Bears must’ve missed me, they came out to greet us when we arrived today.
11 brown bears, including triplet spring cubs & a set of twin spring cubs, + a black bear, the Sows with they’d cubs werd high on the mountain sow with twins in a snow patch and the triplets in a steep rockslide chute.
Amazing early season bear viewing, sow with 3 spring cubs, only 3-4 months old, usually don’t see those until mid June after breeding season. Digging clams on flats then she took them up a steep mountain to the safety of a green grass and alder patch for a nap, saw a total of 6 bears.
View out my office window, this bear wanted to go for a boat ride, actually it wanted a peanut butter sandwich, bears have incredible sense of smell and smelt that peanut butter walking past the boat. Book your alaska bear viewing trips with us.
